What Youll Do as a School Psychologist
You will perform evaluations and assessments to identify students learning and emotional needs, develop intervention strategies, and support IEP and 504 Plan implementation. Youll collaborate with school staff and families to deliver services that address a wide range of developmental and academic concerns, ensuring every student has the opportunity to grow and succeed.
Licensing & Credentialing Requirements Virginia
To serve as a School Psychologist in Virginia, professionals must:

Hold a Master's or Specialist-level degree in School Psychology

Obtain licensure from the Virginia Department of Education (Pupil Personnel Services License with an endorsement in School Psychology)

Pass the Praxis II School Psychology exam (test code 5402)

Complete a supervised internship and submit all required background checks
